For the season 1 key art I wanted the focus to be on “Don Cornelius” and the power and influence he exerted over his show “Soul Train” and the people involved in the production.
The season 2 key art, which won the 2021 Promax Gold Award for MULTI-PLATFORM PROGRAM IMAGE, featured more of our characters and through the use of a kaleidoscope effect communicated the intersection of storylines and the layered emotions of each character’s goals and personal obstacles. The tone is raw, honest, sexy, edgy, moody, and psychedelic.
The groovy social postings leaned in on the vinyl cover aesthetic and boldly proclaimed we were entering 1975, 5 years after season 1.

Leimert Park is a neighborhood in Los Angeles where this BET+ original comedy takes place. The show follows the lives of three best friends as they navigate life. Think HBO’s “Insecure” but with more emoji’s, dating and weed.
I wanted the key art to represent the quirky nature of the show with colorful iconography and emoji’s that communicated the core themes and storylines of the show like bad dating, the ladies friendship and yup, weed.

Hip Hop is more than just today, it’s the past and the future. It’s more than one hot beat with a dope rhyme. It’s an eternal expression of hope, anger, fear, and celebration. Hip Hop is moving culture built on trailblazers bold enough to overcome adversity by using their truths to change the narratives and perspectives of individuals and communities.
It is timeless.
The design elements created to promote the 2018 Hip Hop Awards went deep into the timelessness of Hip-Hop with a visual language that appreciates the past while creating anticipation for the future and the surprises that await all Hip Hop fans who LIVE IT.

Real Husbands of Hollywood, starring Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon, Robin Thicke, Nelly and more, is the ultimate fake reality comedy so it made complete sense in season 5 to parody iconic cinematic posters and pop culture tropes.
